![]() Nelly Reifler is the author of the short story collection See Through (Simon & Schuster, 2003) .
Her nonfiction has been published by Post Road, Paper Sky, and Mr. Beller's Neighborhood, among others. For two years she had a column at the online magazine Nextbook in which she conversed with a variety of people about their religious and spiritual beliefs. When she was 16, her play "Satisfaction was selected for the Young Playwrights' Festival in New York. The following year it was produced in Sydney, Australia at the first Interplay international young playwrights' festival. Other plays by her, including "Warner Warner and "Parfait have been performed around the United States and Australia. Honors include the Henfield Prize and a Rotunda Gallery Emerging Curator Grant. She was assistant editor to Paul Auster on the book I Thought My Father Was God (and Other True Tales from NPR's National Story Project) (Henry Holt, 2001). She has been teaching writing at Sarah Lawrence since 2002. She's been a director of the Pratt Institute's Friday Forum series since 2005. She has curated and co-curated readings for nearly a decade at venues including Magnetic Field, Serena, and BRIC (Brooklyn Information and Culture). Other jobs she's had over the years include baker; wind-up toy salesperson; apartment building manager; and columnist for Electrical World, a utility-themed trade journal.
